Built in 1933, the monastery started out as a hermitage. Especially its position at the entrance to the natural reservation, as well as its detailed wooden carvings, make it a national tourist attraction with regular streams of pilgrims visiting. 

The compound is surrounded by a high stone wall, most buildings inside however are mood of wood and are artfully decorated and painted.

Although this religiouse community lives pretty withdrawn, visits are sometimes possible. If not, you should at least peek through the gate and marvel at this places unique setting and atmosphere.
