Directly above our permaculture garden, buffered by the food forest, there are only the vast grazing grounds of the village cattle seperating us from the wild. This special biotop is one of the typical landscapes of Transsilvania, made possible by hundreds of years of sustainable cattle management - contributing to the big ecological diversity of these mountains. Nowhere else in Europa there are as many grasses, flowers and brushes in such a relatively small place, creating a habitat for countless insects, birds and smaller wildlife.

Posagas last buffallos dont look for human company very much, they prefere to hide in the hills muddy depressions

During our hike we will explain some of this natural beauty, but mostly let the surroundings work their magic on you. It really is a special place up hear, even more during these last hours of sunlight when the cows gather to give us their milk. Under the watchfull eye of the huge carpathian shepard dogs they spend the summers up here, only accompanied by humans for milking. The rest of the days they enjoy the tasty grasslands, and an amazing view down the valley.

They is a very personal relationship between human and animal, none of the cows have lost their horns.
